Getty Images David Harbour is speaking out about Lily Allen . If you don’t recall, back in October, Lily released her very popular new album West End Girl , where she sings about the end of her marriage to David , who she accused of cheating on her . For some backstory, the 41-year-old English singer and the 51-year-old Stranger Things actor were first linked as a couple during the summer 2019 after meeting on the dating app Raya . They married in September 2020 and it was revealed that they had split up in late 2024. Now, David gave a new interview where he was asked about the drama that ensued. David Harbour said he “respects” her ability to create her art About the album, he told Variety , “It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that.” But, he said he won’t say much more “I can’t really say that much more because it’s my private life. In spite of the fact that a lot of people don’t allow me a private life — I value it. And I also value the lives of the people that I interact with privately. I just won’t speak about that,” he said David added it “wasn’t my experience” when asked to respond to any of the claims Variety noted this was the opportunity for him to “push back against any claims Allen has made.” “Stories are complex and that’s why I say I respect her creation of art to channel her experience. It wasn’t my experience,” he added. “My ability to use my experience comes through in the creation of [TV show] ‘DTF.’ I want to make things that make people feel safer. My particular talent is in allowing people to feel like they’re not alone,” he added.
