Getty David Beckham is refusing to talk about his ongoing drama with son Brooklyn . In a new interview with Variety , the 51-year-old retired soccer pro shut down a question about his estrangement from his 27-year-old son. “To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter,” David told the journalist. “That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.” On Friday, June 12, David was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame . While wife Victoria Beckham and their three younger children were in attendance, Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz skipped the event. If you did not see, in January, Brooklyn released a lengthy statement about his family issues and explained why he doesn’t want to repair his broken relationship with famous parents. David and Victoria , 52, have largely stayed silent on the estrangement, but rumors that there had been a rift had been ongoing for quite some time.
