Getty Images Girls actor Andrew Rannells is confirming that he dated CNN anchor Anderson Cooper years ago. The 47-year-old Book of Mormon star revealed the rumored info during an appearance on a recent episode of Obsessed: The Podcast . When did Anderson Cooper and Andrew Rannells date? Well, he revealed he was 25 at the time. By the way, Anderson is currently 59 years old. “I told Lena [Dunham] and [co-creator] Jenni Konner a story about when I was 25 that I had dated Anderson Cooper, and I told them about the experience and what that was like,” he explained. “Then it became the story that Elijah had in the series,” he added. He shared that they had “a very brief relationship,” and said about the Girls co-creators: “But when I told them that, they were like, ‘Oh, that’s a fun story.’” In Girls , Elijah becomes entangled with a high-powered man named Dill. He previously said the character was NOT based on Anderson Cooper “I think the general idea that he’s this powerful, you know, adult , is what’s important.
