Anuel AA Asks Karol G to Unblock Him While Promoting ‘Vuelve’: ‘I Fall Deeply in Love’

Anuel AA celebrated the release of his new single, “Vuelve,” with an Instagram post challenging his fellow artists to surpass him with a better trap song. But what caught most people’s attention was his plea to his ex, Colombian superstar Karol G , asking her to unblock him on social media. IT’S NOT THAT I’M A PLAYER; IT’S THAT I FALL DEEPLY IN LOVE,” the urban artist wrote in a post on Friday night (Oct. 9) using the title of the song, which means “come back,” along a carousel of photos of himself and clips from the music video for the new track. The post, while promoting the new single, reignited conversations online about the relationship the two artists shared for a couple of years. It quickly sparked a flood of comments. “If Karol G gets back with Anuel, I’ll unblock my ex,” wrote music producer Eva Beatz. In an edited image in the carousel, the singer is seen with Karol G, Dominican influencer and singer Yailin La Más Viral — whom he also dated — and his current partner Fabiana Buitrago, along with other ex-girlfriends. At the top, it includes the caption: “Anuel AA, the new Christopher Columbus of America.” Billboard has reached out to Anuel’s team for comment. Karol and Anuel announced their breakup in April 2021 after more than two years together. The pair first met in 2018 while filming the music video for their song “Culpables,” and they went public with their relationship on Nov. 26, 2018, Anuel’s birthday. They solidified their bond further with a second collaboration, “Secreto,” released on Jan. 15, 2019. Anuel AA is set to participate next week in Billboard Latin Music Week, which returns Oct. 19-22 at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach.
