Instagram: ryanlochte Ryan Lochte is seemingly defending his choice to get engaged in the midst of his divorce. The 41-year-old Olympian spoke out following the news of his engagement to Molly Gillihan while still legally married to Kayla Rae Reid . “Correction: Apparently I’m not allowed to say I’m divorced until every signature is in place. So, while we’ve reached an agreement, the judge hasn’t officially signed off yet. My mistake for thinking the hard part was over,” he wrote on his Instagram. “ Molly and I are realizing this may just be the beginning of a very tough and exhausting road. Prayers appreciated while we navigate this new reality. It seems someone wants to make sure this chapter isn’t quite done with me yet.” In her own Instagram Story, Kayla said she is not divorced yet, “but I am close.” “It’s so funny. You know, I blocked certain people over a year ago so I don’t see anything these said people say or do. You guys just like to inform me unfortunately,” she explained. “It was funny because during the hearing, the judge under oath had to ask…somebody…just to clarify they were still legally married. And this said person had to say ‘yes.’ Oh my gosh, I just…I can’t. I can’t. Anyways, I’m not divorced yet. I’m close,” she continued.
