Warner Records Nashville laid off five staff members on Tuesday (Nov. 3), Billboard has confirmed, including executive vp of marketing Victoria “Torie” Mason and senior vp of publicity Fount Lynch . Mason joined Warner out of Nashville in 2011, starting as director of research & analytics before moving up the ranks. Lynch joined Warner Nashville in 2022, having previously served in roles at Red Light, Sony Music and Universal Music Group. It’s unclear whether the layoffs are related to the $300 million in annual cost cuts announced by Warner Music Group (WMG) CEO Robert Kyncl last year. In a company-wide memo released in July 2025, Kyncl wrote that layoffs would account for $170 million of the planned cuts. “Many changes will be implemented in the next three months, with the remainder in fiscal 2026,” he wrote at the time. He characterized the reductions as “the remaining steps in our plan to help future-proof the company and unlock the next era of growth,” adding that the money saved would be reinvested in A&R and M&A. WMG has instituted several rounds of layoffs since Kyncl assumed the role of CEO at the top of 2023, including a 4% staff cut that March, a 10% cut in 2024 and a restructuring at Atlantic Music Group (AMG) later that year, followed by cuts in AMG’s promotion department in August 2025. In July 2025, Warner Music Nashville, which reports through Warner Records, let go of four staffers amid a realignment of Warner Records’ marketing and commerce teams. A representative for Warner Records Nashville did not respond to Billboard ‘s request for comment by press time.
