The viral video has more than 34 million views and counting at the time of this article, not to mention thousands of comments. The video features the creator opening the Skims Accessories Advent Calendar, which retails for $148, and getting increasingly frustrated as they go through each festive pocket. She opens each one on camera and becomes visibly disappointed as she unveils things like bra straps, scrunchies, keychains, hair clips, a comb, and a foam squishy, among other things. People think the advent calendar is really overpriced for what you actually get Most of the commenters were frustrated by the price tag, arguing that $148 is outrageous compared to what they estimate is the actual combined value of the items. Though, to be fair, the official Skims website’s labels it an “accessories” advent calendar, and the description states what kind of items are included . “A dozen reasons to celebrate. Count down to the holidays with this SKIMS accessories advent calendar, featuring twelve days of fun surprises. From hair accessories to keychains and more, unwrap a mix of playful items and everyday favorites. All packaged in a festive advent calendar box,” it shares. Some commenters praised the creator for saving other people money A few people did give the creator kudos for buying it and doing an unboxing, noting that it probably saved others some money. “$150 is WILD for maaaaybe $20 worth of stuff,” one person wrote, as a different commenter compared it all to “TEMU” junk. “They played in your face girl but you just saved so many people money,” chimed in another user. One person called the advent calendar a “box full of pranks,” and another said, “So basically everything that falls between my car seats.” Both comments received over 1 million likes. “this is all the stuff i just threw out when decluttering my nightstand,” someone wrote.
