The 62-year-old Longlegs star spoke to the Associated Press in an interview published on Tuesday (November 4) while he was attending the Madden premiere and cleared up what he meant. What did Nicolas Cage say to clarify his comments? “I went to Comic-Con, and I was riffing with a very good interviewer, and he just had to ask, because it was Halloween night, ‘What are you doing for Halloween?’ Now, when I said that, I meant my house is not available for trick-or-treaters,” he said. Nicolas continued, “Now, I have to watch my words so much to the letter. We’re content. We’re fine. We’re not destitute. We’re okay. I was just meaning that the house is not available for decorations and for candy to hand out to the children, which I like to do because I like Halloween.” What happened to Nicolas Cage’s house? Previously, Nicolas had been at the LA Comic-Con on Halloween day and said he was “currently a little bit homeless” since his house is unsafe to live in. Back in September, his $10.5 million home sustained severe damage from severe coastal erosion and heavy rain causing it to sink into the ground, according to Page Six . Photos show that a massive hole opened up where his driveway used to be. “So I’m just sort of living in hotels so I don’t have normal trick or treaters I would like to enjoy tonight,” he said during the convention. The hole took his enclosed garage, asphalt, and concrete fell inside along with a nearby construction port-a-potty and pieces of a privacy fence. Nicolas ‘ neighbors also had to be evacuated, with seven houses on the street marked unsafe. Here’s why Nicolas Cage says he probably won’t work with Amazon again after Spider-Noir . But the National Treasure alum didn’t let that spoil his Halloween night. He said he planned to take his daughter, August , 4, trick-or-treating in Santa Monica and would watch the horror classic The Shining that night after putting her to bed. Page Six also reports he is working hard to save his house and filed three permits within days of the incident, including an emergency building permit that has granted him permission to “pack sandbags against the beach and the exterior of the home for both wave protection and to prevent further coastal erosion.” The post Nicolas Cage Clarifies ‘A Little Bit Homeless’ Comment After Malibu Sinkhole: ‘We’re Not Destitute’ appeared first on Just Jared - Celebrity News, Entertainment News & Photos .
