YouTube / Madonna Everyone here is a work of art! Madonna just shared a new behind-the-scenes glimpse from the making of the “Danceteria” segment of her star-studded Confessions II – The Film . The instantly catchy song is featured on the Queen of Pop’s new album Confessions II , which debuted to widespread critical acclaim on Friday (July 3). The track includes a ton of lyrical references to Madonna ‘s early clubbing years in New York City before going on to become a global superstar. In the film, Madonna enters into a public bathroom and uses a hand dryer in a nod to her classic Desperately Seeking Susan scene and encounters a line-up of celebs including best friend Debi Mazar , who is also name-checked in the song. If you didn’t know, the two first met while Debi was working the elevator at the legendary NYC nightclub. “F–king fabulous…that felt like being back in the 1980s,” Debi says in the clip after filming. Major stars include Odessa A’zion , Gwendoline Christie , Honey Dijon , Kate Moss , Benedict Cumberbatch , Arca , Shygirl , Richard E. Grant and more. At one point, Madonna even explains to the film crew how she’d like to recreate passing off a cassette to the DJ in the visual, meant to represent handing off her “Everybody” demo to DJ Mark Kamins at Danceteria, which helped launch her career.
