Megan Moroney has always been deeply involved with not only her music and songwriting, but also the colorful visuals that mark her branding and stage shows. Now, she’s expanding her artistic and business ventures with her debut fragrance, Calliope. The fragrance has notes of jasmine, pink peony, mineral musk and peach blossom. The fragrance arrives in a heart-shaped bottle, though the bottle is designed to look like it has been shattered and pieced back together with silver glitter, inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, a practice of repairing broken pottery with shiny gold or silver. The bottle also features the words “You Shine!,” a nod to Moroney’s hit “Beautiful Things.” “I’ve spent the last year and a half hand crafting the concept, scent and design of Calliope,” Moroney says in a statement on the fragrance’s official website . “Songwriting has been my way of making sense of life’s highs and lows. Every song I write comes from a real moment, a feeling, or a memory, and my hope has always been that by sharing those pieces of myself, someone else feels a little less alone. I truly believe that the experiences we carry, both the beautiful and the heartbreaking, become part of who we are. I think fragrance has the power to do the very same.” She added, “Perfume is so much more than something you wear. A scent can instantly take you back to a moment you thought you’d forgotten, capture a feeling you never want to let go of, or become forever tied to a season of your life. It becomes part of first loves and fresh starts, celebrations and heartbreaks, and all of the little everyday moments that somehow stay with us forever. That’s exactly what I wanted Calliope to be.” “I wanted it to have an unforgettable first impression while leaving behind something softer that lingers, like a favorite memory you find yourself coming back to again and again,” Moroney added. Calliope is available for pre-order in the United States, the EU and the United Kingdom, with a 3.4 ounce bottle of Calliope going for $55. In launching her new fragrance, Moroney joins a strong lineage of country artists who have launched fragrances over the years, including Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Ella Langley, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Moroney is currently headlining her Cloud 9 Tour, which is set to visit Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey Friday night (July 10). The tour’s namesake album debuted at No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard 200 earlier this year. View this post on Instagram
