Getty Wai Ching Ho has sadly passed away. The actress, perhaps best known for her role as Madame Gao in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, died at the age of 82, per Deadline. A cause of death has not yet been made public. The actress first made her on-screen debut back in 1990’s Cadillac Man , appearing in films like Tracers and Hustlers and Disney’s Turning Red , as well as shows like One Life to Live , Flight of the Conchords , Only Murders in the Building and Orange Is the New Black . She had a recurring role in Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens , and starred in Celine Song ‘s play Endings as well. She played Madame Gao in the Netflix hit MCU series Daredevil , and later returned to the role in Iron Fist and The Defenders . “Just lost someone very special to me. She was one of the coolest. Thinking aloud. #Gao,” wrote Daredevil co-star Peter Shinkoda on social media , adding in another post: “I won’t ever forget you. I learned every minute from you when we were together on and off set. I know wisdom – I’d hang on your every word. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful.” Our thoughts are with Wai Ching Ho ‘s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. RIP.
