Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s “Rein Me In” has tied the all-time record for the U.K.’s longest-running No. 1 single (July 24). The song was first released in February 2025 on Fender’s People Watching LP with Dean joining for a remix of the song in June of last year. It then went on a record-breaking 35-week rise to the summit of the charts and won song of the year at the 2026 BRIT Awards. “Rein Me In” is Fender’s first U.K. No. 1 single and Dean’s second (“Man I Need”). On its journey to the top “Rein Me In” has smashed a number of records, becoming the longest-running No. 1 of the 21st century (previously Drake’s “Hotline Bling,” 15 weeks) and the longest by a British act (Wet Wet Wet’s “Love Is All Around”, 15 weeks). It also surpassed Bryan Adams’ 1991 song “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” which landed 16 weeks and was previously in second place. Only a handful of songs have dethroned “Rein Me In” from the top since its run began in February: Harry Styles (“American Girls,” one week), Olivia Rodrigo (“Drop Dead,” one week; “The Cure,” one week) Ariana Grande (“Hate That I Made You Love Me,” one week) and Taylor Swift (‘I Knew It, I Knew You,” one week). Following their performance at the half-time show during the FIFA World Cup Final , Shakira and Burna Boy ’s “Dai Dai” is up to a new peak at No. 2. ANOTR and 54 Ultra also capitalize on the summer vibes as “Talk To You” rises to No. 3. Olivia Rodrigo’s “Stupid Song” lifts two spots from last week to No. 6, while Ella Langley’s Hot 100-topper “Choosin’ Texas” is up to No. 5.
