Here’s more about what’s inside the issue: The special issue brings together a cross-generational group of artists and creatives Miley admires, alongside family members, and longstanding friends who have helped shape her personal and creative world through the years. Dolly Parton , Daryl Hannah , Tish Cyrus-Purcell , Noah Cyrus , Kelela , Lykke Li , Sky Ferreira , 070 Shake , Towa Bird , Suzanne Vega , Tallulah Willis , Scout Willis , Phantogram , Model/Actriz , and more, appear across the issue. The issue takes shape through interviews, profiles, visual portfolios and personal archives, offering a collective portrait of Cyrus through the people and ideas she has chosen to bring into conversation, while giving her a platform to champion artists whose work resonates with her. The resulting exchanges move between creativity, identity, humour, transformation, artistic independence and the importance of remaining connected to one’s instincts. The issue also includes a portfolio by Mario Sorrenti , including cover and editorial images. Miley wrote in her opening letter that she’s “always loved when worlds collide.” “Getting to place my voice into the mix alongside so many creatives I admire, all the artists featured in the issue, and of course Mario and Alastair , was a dream come true,” she added. In a wide-ranging conversation with Daryl Hannah , Miley opened up about her career and her outlook on life. They plant little seeds in my brain that grow into my own thought forest. Creativity breeds creativity. It multiplies when it is shared.” On making work that lasts: “Art that you genuinely love feeds you in a way applause never can. I think people will always find their way back because it’s human nature to want to make something that lasts.” On making records: “For me, a song isn’t just chords, melody, and lyrics.
