Getty Images Tate McRae was asked about political leanings in a new interview. If you don’t know, the 23-year-old entertainer faced allegations that she’s a MAGA Republican when she collaborated with Morgan Wallen on the song “What I Want.” She further faced MAGA allegations when she was linked to hockey player Jack Hughes . Hughes famously made headlines for associating with Trump during the Team USA men’s hockey’s Olympic gold medal run. Trump , now infamously, called the team after their win, made a “joke” about the women’s hockey team, and invited the men to the White House. Here’s how Jack Hughes responded to the backlash. In a conversation with Variety , she explained why she’s not been vocally outspoken about the claims. “I like to say my piece through organizations I support and the environment that I have on tour. I think it’s pretty obvious what kind of person I am and the things I support. And I hope that my fans can see that through the things that I’m putting my energy towards,” she told the mag. Variety noted an example of this, citing: “She posted a TikTok advertising a “Little Miss Possessive” hoodie, with a portion of proceeds going to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit focusing on suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth, and Global Fund for Women.” About her relationship status, she added, “I try to keep my relationships as sacred and private as possible. I love the people in my life. They love me. You just try to keep that circle as positive and supportive as possible. And the outside noise, I can’t do anything about that.
