Tom Holland has played Spider-Man in seven feature films, with another coming later this year, and it doesn’t look like his journey as the character is ending anytime soon. Spider-Man: Brand New Day just broke the record for the biggest opening weekend of all time at the U.S. box office, bringing in more than $360 million in just three days. Now, Sony Pictures boss Tom Rothman and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige are both speaking out about Tom ‘s future in the MCU amid the film’s success. While Tom has hinted there is a plan in place to name a new actor as Spider-Man, both bosses believe there will be more of him in the future. Tom Rothman’s comments Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman was asked if he’ll let Tom Holland leave the franchise after the success of Brand New Day . He told Variety , “I love these questions. It’s like when a coach wins the Super Bowl and he goes to the press conference and they say to him, ‘Are you going to win it next year?’ The honest truth is we don’t know at this point. This has been the focus of our studio for almost two years. I can tell you this: I certainly, certainly hope. I heard Tom say at some point that he wanted to continue, and we would love it if he did.” When asked if there’s a possibility for Tom to get another standalone Spider-Man movie, he added, “Yes.” Kevin Feige’s comments Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is making sure Tom gets a break before worrying about making more movies with him. “There are always plans . But right now, he’s going to rest after that global tour. He and Zendaya are going to take a good and restful victory lap, which they very much deserve,” he told Variety .
