Getty Francois Arnaud ‘s secret new project has finally been revealed! The 41-year-old Heated Rivalry star first teased he was working on something in early June, and now it’s been announced that he’s starring in the upcoming dark dramedy, Godstar , alongside Olivia Taylor Dudley , per Deadline . “read @cocomorier ‘s script and my first thought was ‘alright well I better get to work,'” Francois wrote on Instagram . “but what a joy to do that work with @oliviataylordudley and @rockingoren” “What a dream[.] This one is so special. Couldn’t imagine a better partner in crime than @francoisarnaud,” Olivia added on her account . “Thank you @rockingoren and @cocomorier for trusting me with Ronnie. I can’t wait for the world to see the insanity we created together!” What is Godstar about? The new movie follows “Ronnie Dalton ( Dudley ), a sharp-tongued, self-destructive New York actress, as she arrives in Los Angeles to rehearse a revival of the play that made her famous opposite Sky Blue ( Arnaud ), the charismatic former lover who abandoned her at the height of their careers. One savage rehearsal day strips away every performance they’ve perfected in the 15 years since.” Who else stars in the film? Along with Francois and Olivia , the movie co-stars Blu Hunt and James Urbaniak . Oren Shai is directing the feature, which also marks the screenwriting debut for songwriter Nicole Morier , who has written songs with Britney Spears and Charli xcx . “ Godstar is a deeply personal film for many of us involved. A film about artists making their own tragedies and the heavy dues art requires. Equal parts dark comedy and waking nightmare,” Oren shared in a statement with Deadline . “I’m lucky to have been able to bring Nicole ’s twistedly brilliant script to life with such an incredible cast whose performances inspired me every day on set.” The movie’s announcement comes after filming wrapped in Los Angeles. If you missed it, Francois has also joined the cast of Hulu’s Count My Lies as a friend to Lindsay Lohan ‘s character, as well as the upcoming Broadway revival of Three Days of Rain with Yvonne Strahovski and David Corenswet . In addition, Francois is expected to reprise his role of Scott Hunter in Heated Rivalry season two, which begins filming this month in Canada.
