After taking a fallow year in 2026, the U.K.’s festival crown jewel is calling once more – and gearing up for a blockbuster return in 2027. The festival, which welcomes more than 200,000 fans to Somerset, south west England each June, remains one of the world’s defining stages for music’s biggest names. In 2025, headliners The 1975 , Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts and Olivia Rodrigo performed on a bill that spanned pop (Charli xcx, Lorde), indie (Wet Leg, Wolf Alice), hip-hop (Doechii, Loyle Carner), electronic (Four Tet, Maribou State) and beyond, showcasing the extraordinary breadth of sounds and stars that make Glastonbury unlike any other festival on the planet. Glastonbury’s periodic fallow years – the last one took place in 2018, prior to enforced breaks in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic – allow the dairy farm on which the festival sits a chance to recover from the footprint of its enormous scale, while also giving organizers a rare window to recharge. But the downtime also fuels many Glastonbury obsessives’ favorite pastime: speculation over who will take to the Pyramid Stage when the festival returns.
