Ariana Grande fueled speculation that she’s rekindled her romance with Ricky Alvarez after posting a pair of selfies to an Instagram carousel post on Wednesday (Aug. 12) that show Ari and her former backup dancer cuddled up. However, the star did tag the dancer in the snap. Another photo had social media in a frenzy, featuring Alvarez and Ari taking a blurry mirror selfie, which was flipped upside down. Again, the singer-actress tagged the dancer. The Arianators took the subtle pictures as the Grammy-winning singer confirming her rumored relationship and going “Instagram official.” Billboard has reached out to Grande’s reps for comment. Regardless of their relationship status, Alvarez and Ari appear to be spending time together, as fans snapped photos of the duo at JFK Airport in NYC earlier this week after the singer-actress wrapped up the North American leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour. Grande hinted at possibly circling back with Alvarez when she tweaked the lyrics of her 2018 Billboard Hot 100 -topping anthem “Thank U, Next” to suggest they were a thing once again during July 13’s Brooklyn stop on the Eternal Sunshine Tour. She ended up changing the lyrics from “Wrote some songs about Ricky/ Now I listen and laugh,” to “Wrote some songs about Ricky/ We always find our way back.” View this post on Instagram The 33-year-old pop star and Alvarez dated for about a year, from 2015 to 2016, when they met on Grande’s Honeymoon Tour, during which he served as a backup dancer. Ari returns to the stage across the pond on Aug. 15, and she’s slated to headline five shows at London’s O2 Arena. Grande delivered her highly anticipated petal album on July 31, which soared to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 295,000 total album-equivalent units earned.
