KATSEYE is no longer performing at Olivia Rodrigo ‘s fast-approaching Daisy Chain Fields, with the girl group members announcing two days prior to the festival that they had to pull out after member Megan sprained her ankle. In a note posted to KATSEYE’s Instagram Story, the band began by writing, “We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday.” “Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour,” the message continued. “We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us, and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there.” Taking place Saturday in Irvine, California, the inaugural Daisy Chain Fields will feature Rodrigo headlining a self-curated, all-women lineup that also includes Chappell Roan, Doechii, Rachel Chinouriri, The Breeders, Garbage and “special guests” Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan. All of the proceeds will benefit charities supporting women and girls, including Planned Parenthood and Center for Reproductive Rights. “We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community,” KATSEYE’s statement continued. “We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special.” “It’s going to be such an amazing day,” it concluded, “and we can’t wait to see everyone out on tour.” The news marks the latest bump in the road in an already-challenging year for KATSEYE. In February, HYBE announced that Manon would be taking a hiatus from the group to focus on her mental health. Earlier in August, Sophia revealed that she, too, was stepping back from band duties to prioritize her mental well-being, bringing KATSEYE’s member count down to four: Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae and Megan. In place of KATSEYE, alt-pop singer/songwriter Devon Again will perform at Daisy Chain Fields. The festival’s official Instagram account posted an updated lineup shortly after the girl group’s announcement, writing: “Megan is recovering from a sprained ankle, and the group will no longer be able to perform this weekend. We are wishing Megan a smooth and speedy recovery!” See the updated lineup below. View this post on Instagram
