Alex Warren has clinched a second consecutive No. 1 album in the U.K. with his new set, Wildchild, debuting at the top of the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart published Friday (Sept. 4). He supported the release with a U.K. arena tour in April, which included two nights at London’s 20,000-capacity O2 Arena. Reacting to the achievement, Warren told the Official Charts Company : “This is absolutely insane, and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys were the first ones to ever believe in me, and I hope I can get over there [to the U.K.] pretty soon and do some shows. I love you so, so much!” Manchester indie unit The Courteeners secure the runner-up spot with greatest hits compilation God Bless the Band . The result earns the British pop group its highest charting U.K. album in 38 years, following 1988’s The Greatest Hits Collection . The Warning appears on the Official Albums Chart for the first time at No. 16 with Everything’s Falling , while further down the chart, Steve Hackett and Steve Rothery’s new collaborative effort, The Roaring Waves , finishes at No. 24.
