Ella Langley is taking in another historic week for “Choosin’ Texas.” The country star reacted to the song’s latest milestone on Tuesday (Sept. 8), reposting Billboard and Billboard Charts’ Instagram posts announcing the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated Sept. 12. “Choosin’ Texas” remains at No. 1 on the all-genre chart, marking its 21st week atop the tally. The milestone puts “Choosin’ Texas” just one week away from tying the longest-running No. 1 in Hot 100 history. Mariah Carey ‘s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” currently holds the record with 22 weeks at No. 1 across multiple holiday seasons. The song, which Langley co-wrote with Dick, Lambert and Taylor, first reached the top of the Hot 100 back in February. As previously reported by Billboard , its latest week at No. 1 comes with 24.5 million official U.S. streams on country radio, 58.1 million radio airplay audience impressions and 7,000 sales during the Aug. 28-Sept. 3 tracking period. “Choosin’ Texas” has continued its dominance on Billboard ‘s country charts, spending a 39th week at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs . It additionally leads the Streaming Songs chart for a 21st week. The track is now the second-longest-running No. 1 song in Hot 100 history, behind Carey’s holiday classic. With another week at the summit, Langley would tie Carey’s 22-week record and put the song even closer to an unprecedented place in chart history.
