Corey “C-Notes” Calder has been named senior vp of marketing and head of urban music marketing at Columbia Records. He’s previously held roles at Warner Records, Apple, Beats Music, Wasserman (now THE•TEAM) and the Los Angeles Clippers, as well as worked with artists including YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Kevin Gates. Calder previously served as senior vp of marketing and creative at Artist Partner Group (APG), and appeared on appeared on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players list in 2023. “Black music is the lifeblood of culture and the soundtrack to people’s lives,” Calder said in a statement. “It shapes how the world sounds, moves, dresses and speaks, so stepping into this role feels both exciting and deeply personal.
