Getty Gracie Abrams is opening up about her relationship with Paul Mescal . The 26-year-old “That’s So True” singer-songwriter got candid about her romance with the 30-year-old actor in an interview with Vogue . During the conversation, Gracie spoke about the inspiration behind her songwriting, and how she was worried at first that being in a healthy relationship would affect her drive. “I was worried feeling secure and stable was threatening my drive to write music,” she admitted, going on to say that idea “freaked me out.” Her next album, Daughter From Hell, arrives on July 17. She also explained what it’s been like living with her boyfriend while he was filming Hamnet . “It feels like every day you come home and read the greatest book ever. That’s what it’s like to be in conversation with someone making something like that.” She also discussed his Hamnet collaborators, Chloé Zhao and Jessie Buckley , calling them “witches,” in the positive sense. “The person you love gets to be surrounded by witches. It’s magical.” Gracie revealed that Paul bought her a vintage ’60s reel-to-reel recorder (an analog audio system that records sound) and helped her use it, and he’s playing guitar with her as he prepares to play Paul McCartney in the Beatles biopics. She claims he’s “so much better than I’ve ever been.” Paul made rare comments about their relationship last fall. The two were first linked back in June of 2024.
